Exhibitor Spotlight: Carbon Literacy Project
Saturday, 4 July 2026

The Carbon Literacy Project offers everyone a day’s worth of Carbon Literacy® learning, covering – climate change, carbon footprints, how you can do your bit, and why it’s relevant to you and your audience.
Can you summarise your company’s technologies, products, or services in a short paragraph?
The Carbon Literacy Project brings climate education to your workforce, engaging the whole organisation in sustainability and motivating them to take steps to reduce emissions in their individual role and wider team. Carbon Literacy will help demonstrate your dedication to a low carbon culture, satisfy social value requirements, and accelerate your decarbonisation.

Which industries benefit most from your solutions, components, or systems?
All organisations should aim to have a Carbon Literate workforce. It is now imperative that colleagues can speak confidently about climate change and how your organisation is responding it. It’s equally important that decision makers understand the risks posed by the changing climate and how to build a resilient business. Carbon Literacy is designed to be applicable to any individual, regardless of their position in the business, while simultaneously being uniquely relevant to your business and operations.

What trends or emerging developments in vehicle electrification excite you the most right now?
The overall excitement for me is the increasing consumer demand for EV. As EVs reach price parity with ICE, and with lower operating costs, it is becoming the sensible option and no longer just the climate-conscious option. Despite some turbulence in policy, there is a drive to reduce emissions across transport and invest in UK research and manufacture. The future is looking bright for EV and I am excited to see where it will go.
What service are you showcasing at Vehicle Electrification Expo this year?
The Carbon Literacy Project, with funding and support from Autotrader, have developed a set of training materials to educate automotive organisations on the fundamentals of climate change, what it means for them, and how they can turn action into a business opportunity. The cost of the materials is fully funding by Autotrader, making them free to access for anyone in the automotive sector. Through the training, individuals will be certified as Carbon Literate. With a widescale roll-out your business can earn the badge of Carbon Literate Organisation to demonstrate how you have embedded sustainability into your company culture.

What types of partners, customers, or collaborators are you hoping to connect with during the show?
Carbon Literacy is designed to be flexible, meaning the Automotive Toolkit is suitable for anyone within the automotive industry. The materials can be tweaked to include information specific to your organisation, making the content relevant to your workforce and increasing the resulting positive impact.
What is the one message you hope attendees remember after meeting your team?
You don’t need a sustainability team to be a sustainable business. All that is required is that each person in a business understands the emissions associated with their role, how they can reduce them, and why they should bother. Carbon Literacy training will provide all three.

What are you most looking forward to at Vehicle Electrification Expo?
I am most looking forward to networking with the wide range of organisation in attendance and understanding how their work is aiding the transition to electric. The event will provide invaluable information which I hope to include in future iterations of the Automotive Toolkit.
