Mahle Powertrain’s Award-Winning Battery Development Centre

Our award-winning Battery Development Centre (BDC) is now available to support your battery pack testing and validation projects. The state-of-the-art test facility houses four separate climatic test chambers, each serviced with a 250kW cycler for charging and discharging complete packs up to 2400A. These cyclers can be connected in series providing a maximum power capability of 1MW. Complete battery packs can be tested over a wide range of environmental conditions, from -40 to +60 °C, with comprehensive safety monitoring systems. The new centre also includes a dedicated assembly area for the build of modules and packs in prototype and niche volumes.
